Dr. Lemmens is de pionier voor obesitaschirurgie in België. Zo nam hij al deel aan het 1ste wereldcongres over obesitaschirurgie in 1984. Dr Lemmens is nog steeds regelmatig gastspreker op deze internationale congressen, zoals bv IFSO. Deze jarenlange inzet zorgde voor een uitgebreide expertise in bariatrische chirurgie.

Met deze expertise konden al vele duizenden obesitas patiënten geholpen worden.

Wij waren tevens het 1ste Center of Excellence in Europa, erkend door IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity).
